![]() ![]() A dedicated team of 5-10 can clear it in a day or two with some luck. The disguise is very useful, if you only mine, the locals will always assume your mining and prepare accordingly, if you are seen in other ships, especially cloaked ones, not being on dscan isn't as suspicious.īefore industry changes, a large crokite anomaly was worth 9b isk, dark ochre 3~4b but smaller total volume, definitely worth trying at least once. Strongly recommend having the following handy as well: bpc for your preferred barge, compressed high sec ore, bpo for miasmos, backup fittings, a bpo for a t1 regular hauler, or BR+DST (for moving "not" ore), heron or astero for setting pings and "disguising" your actions, t1 frig bpo for fun, some kind of plan for your ore, building ships or modules for a lowsec market, or supplying high sec industrial alliances, for example. Busy systems can be safer(the reason I mined in faction war space), if there's traffic often passing through, or a mission runner in the system, it provides targets that are not you, and provides you intel to possibly trade. Being friendly, and more importantly, hard to catch, can be very valuable to your mining career. ![]() How far from the gate are you, are you off dscan of the main flight path, do you have high or low instadocks, will you setup a perch, how are you going to move your barges, interact with the community, etc. There's a lot of setup to being a solo miner/public fleet. Have a refit in the porpoise for remote reps just in case though, as well as a depot. I used higgs rigs to let me stay aligned, without drifting out of range.įor rats, porps have strong enough drones, and the covetors can kick in enough dps that your tank shouldn't be threatened. Strongly recommend using covetors, you're safe when docked, and covetors help you spend less time in the field. But more often than not, you'll get dunked on and forgotten, or worse, remembered. The first few times it might work, it may result in you being invited to random alliance. LS hunters don't care about fairness, battle procs and skiffs will lead to escalation. Keep the orca around for compression if you don't have access to a citadel. Porpoises do just fine, even better if you have a hauler. There's a few things you should be aware of before you commit.ĭon't use the orca, the new module requires you to sit in place for a cycle, if you must use it, don't keep it on all the time. I mined in lowsec faction war space in metropolis for a few months to great success. Yeah, they reverted it, along with 2x ore, but hey, we still have the FUCKING waste mechanic. They do not give a shit for lowsec, almost half a year with these bug reports and they dont give a flying shit.ĭecember was suposed to drop the prosperity patch, which they did, and it was reverted in January, what a fucking shitty fucking joke tgis developer is. I've tried it with two, so a belt fits in 1 and 1/2 retrievers, fucking joke. NPC fucking mining fleets in 90% of all systems.Īfter an anom is mined out by fucking NPCs, the anom will remain empty.and never despawn.for days if not weeks, untill CCP code decides to remove it.īelt ore ammount is trash, you can literaly mine an entire belt in a retriever. I still have several bug reports "attached" to an active defect for over 5 months now, so let me tell you why there is no Lowsec mining, specially belt and anom. Other than moons, there is no lowsec mining. If you actually want advice, feel free to pm and i can help you get setup. So i look forward to killing your orca in lowsec. However, if you are like most people that want to venture into lowsec, you wont listen to any of this advice. Using an expedition frigate is also an option, I personally rarely go after those. not worth having a porp there unless you got 3 alts. However if only 2 alts, just use 2 procurers then. Fit a burst jammer on your porp, and warp out immediately after you break tackle, should stop most solo hunters. You WILL lose your ship, so you want to mitigate that risk by not flying expensive mining ships. The name of the game is procurers/porp boost mining. The bigger target you make for us, the more fun we will have. They will always have something bigger than you will always lose, no matter what. I hunt in the lowsec closest to Amarr, and first rule is never expect to be able to tank or win against a lowseccer. ![]() I have only ever lived in the Amarr area, and lowsec here in general is more quiet than you would find in the FW areas or near Jita. So best option would be to join a lowsec group that is noob friendly (you still have to be careful as neuts will still shoot you no matter who you are a part of). I help run an alliance in the Amarr area. ![]()
